Cumbrae is the island closest to Largs with cycling around it a popular activity for any age! There is a Golf Course with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde, and in general the island is well worth a visit.

Dumfries House

An Adam house commissioned by the 5th Earl of Dumfries and built between 1754 and 1759, Dumfries House was saved for the nation in 2007 in a campaign spearheaded by HRH The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Duke of Rothesay. A charitable trust was formed and named after one of The Prince's Scottish Titles, hence 'The Great Steward of Scotland's Dumfries House Trust.' Guided tours are given and prior booking is recommended.

Culzean Castle

A National Trust for Scotland property with so much history. Tours of the Castle are available; a courtyard of shops and cafes and beautiful gardens, not to mention the deer.
