Dumfries HouseAn Adam house commissioned by the 5th Earl of Dumfries and built between 1754 and 1759, Dumfries House was saved for the nation in 2007 in a campaign spearheaded by HRH The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Duke of Rothesay. A charitable trust was formed and named after one of The Prince's Scottish Titles, hence 'The Great Steward of Scotland's Dumfries House Trust.' Guided tours are given and prior booking is recommended.
