Things to do in the local area

Explore Noddsdale

The all weather tennis court in the garden at Noddsdale is available most of the time – bring your own racquets and balls if possible. Hire bicycles and pedal 11 miles around the Isle of Cumbrae, or go over the top if feeling energetic!

Golf

Play golf at any of the numerous courses in Ayrshire; Routenburn Golf Course, Skelmorlie Golf Course, Largs Golf Club and West Kilbride Golf Club – or visit the Open Championship courses at Turnberry or Royal Troon.

Other Activities

Try your hand at Off Road Driving. Or Indoor Dry Ski at Snow Factor, Braehead near Glasgow airport. RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve is only 20 minutes away from Noddsdale House by car.

Water Activities

Cumbrae Voyages Adventure run RIBs to see local wildlife at sea and the National Watersports Centre on Cumbrae run various courses for sailors and windsurfers. The Clyde is also a popular Diving spot. Swim indoors at the Vikingar, Largs or outdoors at the heated salt water filled pool in Gourock (May to September!)

What our guests say

This delightful, beautifully-equipped cottage is in a lovely setting in the Noddsdale Valley, yet is but a few minutes drive from the centre of Largs. We were met by our charming host, Jane Evans, who drove down to give us the keys and to show us around the cottage. She was both helpful and friendly. We were made very welcome.
It would have been very nice to have been able to stay longer!

October 2022

We recently spent 10 days at the Bell Loft & would happily have stayed longer. The accommodation is very clean & well presented. Tastefully decorated & furnished, with comfy beds, lovely bedlinen & quality duvets, towels, crockery etc. The kitchen is fab & has everything you could possibly need including a Nespresso! Tea, coffee & other basics like salt, olive oil, as well as a vase of flowers & home made biscuits to greet us. Everything worked, we felt comfortable, relaxed & safe, it's a perfect retreat, whilst only 5 minutes by car or taxi into Largs. We had great weather & loved walking from the door, up through the grounds to enjoy the wonderful views & tranquil setting. Jane & her family made us feel very welcome & we hope to return.

A Perfect Place to Stay

After a tumultuous few months working in the NHS and our long planned for holiday cancelled, we found Willow cottage online and contacted Jane, the owner. The cottage is in a lovely setting with a gorgeous garden to enjoy the sun when it shines! Willow cottage is in a great location for exploring lots of nearby sights. The owners, Jane and Chris have thought of everything in terms of making this a home from home and the cleanliness and condition of the cottage were excellent. There were some lovely touches like flowers, milk and homemade shortbread when we arrived. Chris and Jane responded readily to any issues we had and went over and above to resolve them. The weather wasn’t always kind to us but they were! I would have no hesitation in recommending this place.
