The Noddsdale Estate

The House
Noddsdale House is a category B listed, arts and crafts style country house. One, the Bell Loft, is available for guests, the other, The Granary is currently lived in by a member of the family. Bell Loft was originally the maids wing of the house while the Granary (previously known as the East wing) formed part of the farm buildings, before it was converted some time in the 1920s.
The house sits on the picturesque and peaceful Noddsdale estate, just 2 miles from the centre of Largs, on Scotland’s west coast.
The Grounds
Noddsdale Estate extends to 200 acres. The farmland is let to the local farmer who keeps sheep and in the Springtime the land really comes alive with all the lambs gambolling in the fields.
There are several woodland areas including two relatively newly planted ones which are growing slowly. Behind the house you can walk up a winding track that leads up the hill where you can enjoy the wonderful views of the Firth of Clyde and the islands of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran, over to the Kintyre Peninsula and even to the Paps of Jura on a really clear day. On the way up the track you might notice an old quarry; this was where the material for the Hydro Dam was sourced.

The Holiday Homes
Noddsdale offers two charming, upmarket self catering holiday homes, one set in our beautiful B Listed Country House and the other a semi-detached cottage in the grounds of the estate, with its own enclosed garden.
Bell Loft is full of character and wonderful antique furniture with beautiful pictures while Willow Cottage has a much more contemporary feel. Both are equipped to a very high standard. Each is a comfy, cosy place to recharge the batteries and relax. Opportunities abound to explore Ayrshire, Argyll and the islands of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, or to play golf on some of the local courses.
